How do these pledges work?

If you pledge at any level, your total pledge amount will be converted to credit in our Pledge Manger Backerkit after the campaign! We will send you a custom survey over email after the campaign ends for you to submit your delivery address and allocate your total Kickstarter pledge across whatever add-ons you might want. On Backerkit, you will also see an interactive shipping rate according to your delivery address. Shipping will be charged after the campaign in Backerkit! If you selected the John Company or Pax Pamir pledge level, you will already have that game in your cart and have that portion of your pledge auto-allocated toward that reward. Your reward selections must be locked before we close Backerkit, address verified and confirmed before we start international freight, and any remaining balance charged before fulfillment!

How do I add-on coins?

There are two ways to add coins or any add-on to your pledge. You can either manually add it to your Kickstarter total pledge now or you can wait and add it in Backerkit during our Backerkit Pledge Manager period after the campaign. If you add any additional amount to your Kickstarter pledge, you’ll still have to allocate it across items in Backerkit.

How can I get both John Company and Pax Pamir?

If you pledge Pax Pamir (and/or Pax Pamir add-ons) or John Company, you can add another game by either manually adding the cost of the game to your Kickstarter total pledge wait until after the campaign and add it in Backerkit. If you want both games, your pledge will ship in one box when John Company is ready for fulfillment. We’ll have a Split shipment option available for folks that want their Pax Pamir related items ASAP. This must be be selected during the Pledge Manager period in Backerkit.

What's this 'Split Shipment' all about?

Because we are printing and shipping Pax Pamir and Pax Pamir Add-ons months before John Company, we are able to fulfill Pax Pamir-only orders as soon as we receive them at our regional fulfillment hubs! If you are ordering both Pax Pamir (and/or Pax Pamir add-ons) and John Company, your pledge will ship as one parcel when John Company is available. If you want to get your Pamir items ASAP, you can select a “Split Shipment” in Backerkit which will allow your Pax Pamir items to ship as soon as they are at the fulfillment hub and your John Company items to ship when they are ready. Split Shipment will be similar to the standard shipping fee for base games (and about 50% less if the split shipment is for small orders like coins).

Will there be language localizations?

This Kickstarter is for English editions only. We will continue working with localization partners on our games so they have, but we will not be organizing language localized copies of John Company: Second Edition until later this year at the earliest. We are hoping to work with all of our previous language localization partners (Spielworxx, 2 Tomatoes, Yoka, etc) on localized editions of John Company later this year after the development is complete

New Games?

This new edition of John Company has many significant changes, from the components to gameplay. It will feel a like a new game to people that played the first edition. Our next project will be a new edition of An Infamous Traffic, which we hope to launch on Kickstarter in 2022.

Why are there two Split Shipment items in Backerkit?

Backers picking up John Company AND Pax Pamir items might decide to pay a bit more to receive their Pax Pamir items ASAP by selecting a Split Shipment item. These backers only need to select one option. “Split Shipment - Small Rewards” covers the added cost of sending Pax Pamir Coins and/or sleeves in advance. “Split Shipment - Standard” covers the cost of sending Pax Pamir + coins/sleeves in advance. FOR EXAMPLE: A Backer receiving John Company and Pax Pamir can select “Split Shipment - Small rewards” to get their metal coins this year. If they don’t select any Split Shipment option, John Company will ship with the Pax Pamir coins in one box.

How does the Split Shipment work?

Backers will receive all rewards in one package as the default shipping option. Pax Pamir will be ready to ship in Q3 2021, John Company will ship in Q1 2022. Backers receiving both Pax Pamir AND John Company items can split their pledge into two shipments to get Pamir items in Q3 2021. By selecting one of the Split Shipment add-ons in the Backerkit Pledge Manager, Backers will receive their Pax Pamir rewards before their John Company rewards are ready to ship. Pick “Split Shipment - Add-ons” to receive Pax Pamir Coins and/or Pax Pamir Sleeves before John Company is ready. Pick “Split Shipment - Standard” to receive Pax Pamir (and Pax Pamir add-ons) before John Company ships. Backers should not pick both Split-Shipments options!

TENTATIVE TIMELINE May 2021: Backerkit Pledge Manager emails are sent July 2021: Pledges containing Pax Pamir are locked (addresses can still be changed) August 2021: Backerkit processes remaining balances containing Pax Pamir, addresses are confirmed and locked September 2021: Pax Pamir begins fulfillment October 2021: John Company Pledges are locked (addresses can still be changed) December 2021: Backerkit processes all remaining pledges, addresses are confirmed and locked January 2022: John Company begins fulfillment March 2022: All pledges have shipped.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
